You spend years writing your book but only a few hours preparing to read it aloud. In this hands-on two hour workshop, you’ll learn performance techniques to lift your work from the page. We’ll dive into piece selection, how to score your work, convey oral meaning and clarity, and gain unique tips from a voice and stage actor on how to leave an impression on your audience, regardless of genre. This zoom workshop will include advice on piece selection, avoiding vocal patterns, and how to move through your reading with etiquette. 30 min prep work before the workshop required. Come ready to move with your microphone set up for standing (if able). Note: this is not a spoken word workshop.
